Rale Micic, of Serbian origin, has lived in New York for over twenty years. We met in the 1990s, in Boston, while studying at Berklee. More than a decade later, we magically reunited on New York’s Fifth Avenue one afternoon, and since then we’ve done several concerts together and maintained a beautiful friendship.
The composition Jano is based on the traditional Serbian melody A Što Si Se Jano. The lyrics of this piece talk about the mysterious dew that appears on the necklace of a girl named Jano.
